In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
With faith, hope, and love in our hearts, we stand at the beginning of the Way of the Cross, which will take us through the numerous stations of this treasured Calvary in Banská Štiavnica. Symbolically, we will follow the most important path of life—the path of redemption. It will show us not only the price of our salvation, but also the price of our lives. Maybe it will make us stop in places where we don’t want to, it will touch what we resist, and show us what we carefully hide. The image and word, together with the struggle of the Way of the Cross, will be our personal guides. But the main one will be the Lord Himself, who will complete that for which neither image nor word is sufficient. Therefore, at the beginning of this journey, let us invite Him as a companion by saying:
Crucified Lord Jesus,
Have mercy on us and on the souls in Purgatory.
